For the past four years, TRYSTIC has been blazing
through the clubs of DC and Virginia. Their major influences include Ani
Difranco, Jeff Buckley, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Dave Matthews.
With their unique mix of bass, drums, and acoustic guitar, they have played
at IOTA Club & Café, State of the Union, Metro Grill &
Café, Zig's, Velvet Lounge, Grog & Tankard, George Washington
University, and University of Maryland. TRYSTIC is also known to play
frequently for charity causes, including DC Rape Crisis Center's Take
Back the Night Rally, and Tanqueray's DC & Boston/New York AIDS Rides.
Guitar/Vocals
Steve Orders sets himself apart from the males currently dominating
today's music scene, through his intense lyrics, chunky acoustic guitar,
and dynamic vocals. Aggressive and passionate, yet at the same time
tender and honest, Orders plays every song from the inside out. Former
frontman of the DC ska band, THE
SKUNKS, Orders now enjoys the creative freedom afforded by TRYSTIC's
three-way artistic collaboration.
Bass
Nicole Legum is the musical mortar that holds TRYSTIC's songs together,
pouring out bass lines that are both powerful and melodic. Whether hypnotically
simple or dizzyingly complex, Legum's basswork establishes a groove
that is irresistable. Her hip-hop roots bring a soulful ambience to
even the most raucous songs.
Drums
Nathaniel Provencio hails from Savannah, Tennessee, where he's been
banging heads (drum heads, that is) for 13 years. His forceful, elastic
sound gives TRYSTIC an edge that is rare in the acoustic rock genre.
From his drummer's throne, Provencio deftly shifts the beats from tranquil
to riotous without grinding the clutch. He's played with many bands,
including the southern punk/emo outfit, PRO-T76.
